BREED INFORMATION

Pug

How could you not want to smile when you see that squidgy little pug face? Pug lovers the world over will tell you that these bundles of joy make a great family pet; even their snoring and snorting is endearing. Pugs are generally laid back little creatures, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have moments of crazed energy and excitement.

While not renowned for being the sharpest tool in the shed, they seem to come equipped with a sense of humour, so this ever smiling little dog is bound to bring joy to your home. Pugs make great companion dogs, they are social, affectionate and tend to win people over with their charm. In the EQ stakes they come up trumps showing sensitivity to the moods of their owners making them a great companion for a cuddle on the couch.

If you’re considering a pug for your new best friend be sure to research their health needs. Their short snouts can lead to breathing issues so it’s best to be sure up front that you’ll be able to cover any associated vet bills should the need arise. Pugs are also quite fond of their food and sometimes prefer the couch to outdoor activities so they will often need to watch their waistlines as the years roll on!
